Complaining is deadly and comparison is foolishness. Were it not for God’s grace and mercy, many of us would have died long time ago because of our murmuring and grumbling. Complaining makes us to focus on the minor and to forget the major. Apart from it stealing the joy of the Lord in us which is our strength, it also steals the time that should be used for the glorification and enjoyment of God. What about comparison? Is the right thing to do? No. See it in this Scripture “…When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.” (2 Cor. 10:12). Dr David Jeremiah wrote “Comparison leads to overlooking and wastefulness. We squander our time and gifts by treating them with disdain. Jesus came to free us from the poison of comparison.” Instead of complaining or comparing, let’s release our concerns and worries to Christ in exchange for more of His gifts and blessings. Instead of complaining or comparing, let’s celebrate God’s grace and mercy in our lives. Then watch Him, rain down His unmerited favour and pleasant surprises on our lives!
