Together we can make a difference and start a movement toward a world of intentional living where people think of others before themselves, where adding value to others is a priority, where politicians get into politics to serve the people, where civil servants don’t take bribes but show extraordinary commitment to the job, where financial gain is second to future potential and where people’s self worth is strengthened by acts of significance everyday. This can be realized if we internalize the fact that greatness comes from serving and demonstrating Kingdom values. We can live a life that truly matters and change our community, country and the world at large if we follow in the footstep of the greatest Man that ever walked our planet. Humble service is Christ’s way. Take a moment to further reflect on Christ’s way from these profound statements of His: “…He who is greatest among you shall be your servant” Or “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…” The society’s norms are challenged by Christ. To Him, greatness comes from serving God and giving of ourselves to help others. Definitely accumulation of wealth, power and authority are unimportant to Him but not altruism – which can change our community and world for the better.
“The most obvious lessons in Christ’s teaching is that there is no happiness in having or getting anything, but only in giving.” Henry Drummond
