Passage to Paradise

Have you ever asked yourself what really happens when Christians die?  Where do they go to? Are they in the state of unconsciousness? What are they doing right now? The best clue can be found from Christ’s two statements. The first one was while Jesus was speaking about the rich man and the beggar (Lazarus). “And it came to pass that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom…” The second was what Jesus told the thief on the cross. “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise.” Although Bible scholars have argued that Abraham’s bosom is different from paradise, Christ’s assurance to the dying criminal signifies that as soon as believers die their souls go to heaven. R. C. Sproul one of the most influential Christian authors and leaders, wrote the following in a magazine article entitled ‘death does not have the last word.”

“When we close our eyes in death, we do not cease to be alive; rather, we experience a continuation of personal consciousness”

“No person is more conscious, more aware, and more alert than when he passes through the veil from this world into the next.”

“Far from falling asleep, we are awakened to glory in all of its significance.”

Very profound.

So, don’t be afraid of death. It is not an end. It is a passage to paradise.

Keep looking unto Jesus. Live an impactful life. Be committed to winning souls and reaching out to the defenseless people for this is the definition of wise-living.

“I am the Resurrection and I am Life Eternal. Anyone who clings to me in faith, even though he dies, will live forever.” Jesus Christ
