The greatest day in history

A king, stripped naked and executed in public view would have lost his kingdom forever. But not Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.  On the third, His death and resurrection struck the deathblow to Satan’s rule and established His eternal authority over the earth. He rose like He promised. The resurrection Sunday more than 2000 years ago remains the greatest day in history. What happened that day is the key to the Christian faith. Let me explain five reasons why I believe that Easter Sunday is the most important day for Christians:  (1) Just as Jesus said, He rose from the death. We can be confident, therefore, that He will accomplish all He has promised. (2) Jesus’ bodily resurrection shows us that the living Christ, not a false prophet or imposter, is ruler of God’s eternal Kingdom. (3) We can be certain of our resurrection because Jesus was resurrected. Death is not the end- there is future life. (4) The divine power that brought Jesus back to life is now available to us to bring our spiritually dead selves back to life and (5) the resurrection is the basis for the church’s witness to the world.” So what should be our response as Christians? We should go tell it on the mountain, over the sea and every where that Jesus is Lord, He is alive and mighty to save. We should boldly worship God with holy lives, living in purity as priests in His presence everyday. We should inform unbelievers that their sins will be forgiven if they accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We should continue to look forward to the joyful fulfillment of our hope in the dawning splendor of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Jesus, the Anointed One.

Happy Easter
