The real warfare

The military website, Global Firepower recently released 2019 military strength ranking for 137 countries. The USA was named as the most powerful country in the world with 1.28 million active military personnel, 13,398 aircraft, more than 6,200 tanks and a defence budget of $716 billion. In distant second place was Russsia with a defence budget of $44 billion. China, India and France were in the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively. Glaringly, USA is battle ready and no ‘enemy nation’ should mess with her.  As United State is ready for warfare, we too as Christians should be ready and also conscious that we are at war with strongholds of the devil. However, we don’t use human plans and methods to win our battles. God’s mighty weapons – prayer, faith, hope, God’s Word, the Holy Spirit – are powerful and effective to overcome Satan and his cohorts. We must also be determined that God becomes the commander in chief of our thoughts i.e., we purpose to think honest, just, pure, lovely or praiseworthy thoughts. One more thing, we are not to be fearful, superstitious or suspicious because by the power of cross, Christ has won the ultimate victory over principalities and powers. Apostle Paul, once wrote a letter to believers in Colosse, a city in Asia Minor in which he admonished them not to fear the unseen forces of darkness. Paul emphasized that true believers have been transferred from darkness to light, from slavery to freedom, from guilt to forgiveness and from the power of Satan to the power of God.
