Travel and Share Christ

This week’s gold nugget title is my translation for Mark 16:15 (… Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature). We should love adventure and reaching out. Thank God for digital age, we can sit in the comfort of our home and post messages of love, kindness and encouragements on our many devices however there is nothing like going to places and touching people’s lives. When you travel, you not only release something of yourself to that community, you also gain. Travelling is education in itself. It is amazing how many new ideas emerge when you get the chance to be in a space that is unfamiliar to your own. So, determine to travel in the coming year and when you do, you’ll get the opportunity to enjoy adventure, you also get to know different people and places. Are there other benefits? Absolutely. They include, getting accustomed to different cultures, seeing places that you haven’t seen before and you are also able to relax. Most importantly, you are able to share and demonstrate the love of God to the people you meet.

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.” ~ St Augustine
2016 Trip!

By the grace of God, we are planning a trip (which we have called #ReachOut&RelaxTrip) to Mauritius come December 2016 if Jesus tarries. Republic of Mauritius is a beautiful island nation in the Indian Ocean about 2,000 kilometres of the southeast coast of the African continent. The economy is based on tourism, textiles, sugar, and financial services. Recently, information and communication technology, seafood, hospitality, property development, healthcare, renewable energy, and education & training have emerged as important sectors attracting substantial investment from both local and foreign investors.

Mauritius is ranked high in terms of economic competitiveness, a friendly investment climate, good governance and a free economy. Mauritius is also an upper middle income economy and for the fifth consecutive year, the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business report ranks the country as the first among African economies and the 19th worldwide out of 183 economies in terms of ease of doing business.

According to the 2011 census made by Statistics Mauritius, Hinduism is the major religion at 48.5%, followed by Christianity 32.7%, Islam 17.3% and Buddhist 0.4% in terms of number of adherents.

I visited this beautiful country on business in July and it gives me great pleasure that I will be visiting again next year to relax and reach out.

In Mauritius, apart from spending time to relax and we will be visiting missionaries and encouraging them; we will visit hospitals, orphanages and possibly a prison.
If you love to travel and God is impressing it on your heart to visit Mauritius, let’s go there together and make a difference.

God bless you!
