At the event (Africa Leadership and Innovation Symposium) we organized yesterday in Durban South Africa, I said we should not let anything stop us from being a leader and an innovator. I made reference to Ghanim Al Muftah, the Qatari youth icon who shined at Qatar 2022 opening ceremony. Though Ghanim was born with a rare condition known as Caudal Regression Sydrome (CDS), he refused to allow the condition to stunt his life. He has been able to overcome obstacles with positivity and leadership, becoming an exceptional and inspiring character. Ghanim is also an entrepreneur. He launched Gharissa Ice Cream, a company based in Qatar. He has also acquired the franchise rights for Gharissa Ice cream and he plans to expand his franchise abroad and across the entire Gulf region. Once again, don’t allow challenges or any negative thing to break you, rather break records in spite of them and be an inspirational leader as well as an innovator.
