While picking banana at Spar Glenwood Village few days ago, I said to a fellow shopper picking the same fruit beside me, “Jesus loves you.” He smiled then after few seconds, he said someone had told him similar thing. I went ahead to ask him if he believed in Jesus. He replied that though he is a Muslim, he believed in Jesus, “He is our prophet.” He said… I prayed in my mind that he would understand that Jesus is more than just a prophet. He is a Prophet of prophets, The only Way to God. After leaving Spar that day, I thought of what Moses said in Deuteronomy 18:15: “The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.” Like Stephen and Peter who quoted this verse in the New Testament, I believe Moses was prophesying the coming of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, the Messiah, who the author of the book of Hebrews said to be superior to angels, Moses and high priests. One of our main duties therefore, as people of faith, is to always fix our minds on Jesus at the same time point others to Him.
“And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God and are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus who we declare to be God’s messenger and High Priest.” Scripture
