I have been following the journey of Kunle Adeyanju who is riding a motor bike from London to Lagos. Kunle, President – Elect Rotary Club of Ikoyi Metro’s purpose for riding to Nigeria from London is to raise funds for his club including support for polio eradication. He is currently in Benin and will arrive Nigeria later today. You will agree with me that it takes a great deal of courage for him to undertake this voyage. However, we too are most of the time courageous even though many of us can’t ride a power bike not to talk of riding one from Europe to Africa. Every time we make a right choice or say No to temptation we are being courageous. Every time we refuse to procrastinate, we are being courageous. Every time we stand alone when necessary, we are being courageous. Every time we put our ideas out there, we are being courageous. We should however ask ourselves regularly whether we are more courageous today than we were yesterday. The best way to keep growing in courage is to walk so closely with Christ that fear no longer dominates our lives. His righteousness so permeates our lives that we become bold like a lion. This is my question to you today, are you growing in courage?
