If you are not a believer and you are fearful, I don’t blame you. You should be fearful because there is a great red dragon with seven heads and ten horns that steals, destroys and kills. This great red dragon, Satan, is not just a symbol or legend; He is very real and powerful though his power is limited.
However, if you are a child of God, you don’t have to live in fear rather you should be brave because Jesus has complete power over Satan and God’s angelic forces are with you. If you think deeply, you will remember how God had watched over you in the past. Let me share one incident of God’s protection over my life. It was twelve years ago after coming back from a church program while still living in Pretoria, South Africa.
The program held out of town ended about 11pm and we didn’t get home until around 1 am. As I was about getting into our granny flat, I heard a sound at the gate and so I went back toward the gate. It was the ADT security officer that jumped over the gate because an alarm in the main building and law offices had gone off…The private security officer walked up to me and told me he was about shooting me but something held him back. What held him back? An angel? Probably.
That experience and many others have continued to persuade me to be more brave and daring because God’s got my back. That doesn’t mean I should be stupid or tempt God like Prophet ‘Daniel’ Abodunrin who was killed and eaten by lions at Ibadan Zoo in 1991. But as you and I go about our legitimate work or business, we should determine to be brave and bold. Boldness to do something unpredictable or ask for what we want or take risks while not being reckless.
For example, in this COVID 19 pandemic era, we should follow simple WHO precautions to protect ourselves however we should boldly go out when necessary. Also, in life there may be opposition or hatred against us but we must never be afraid because our God is a God of battles. Let me end my piece with a testimony from one of the bravest heroes of faith, David: “There is only one strong, safe, and secure place for me; it’s in God alone and I love Him! He’s the one who gives me strength and skill for the battle.”
“God is my Saviour; I will trust Him and not be afraid. The LORD gives me power and strength; He is my Saviour.” Scripture
Do have a pleasant week ahead.
