A friend recently gave me dirty boots – an adventure guide book for Southern Africa – containing a list of the best and most professional adventure companies in South Africa, Swaziland and Lesotho. It also covers numerous adrenaline and extreme tours with the most dangerous for me being White Shark Africa which provides visitors with the opportunity to view or dive with the mysterious and intriguing great white shark.
While I will not encourage anyone without skills and experience to try the hard adventure in the book, we all should make adventure part of our life. I totally agree with Ginger Kern who said that the key to living a life of adventure is to ‘adopt travelers mindset.’
Still, you don’t have to travel outside of your town or country to have this mindset but even where you live, you can show this approach by being more curious, willing to talk to strangers and explore. You can even decide to take a different route to work or go running/brisk-walking somewhere new.
Our greatest adventure however as believers is adventure with Jesus. We should go an adventure of a lifetime with our Saviour by romancing and exploring Him, taking risk for His name and following the Holy Spirit where He leads us.
“The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” Scripture
