In the book of Revelation, John, who once rested on Jesus’ bosom during the Last Supper, had a completely different encounter with Christ on the Island of Patmos. This time, instead of resting, John fell at Jesus’ feet as though dead, overwhelmed by His terrifying glory. Jesus, the Son of God, appeared with His head and hair white like wool and snow, His eyes blazing like flames of fire, His feet shining like fine brass, and from His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword. His face shone with a brilliance like the sun at its strongest.
When Jesus first came, He came as a humble Savior. He was spat upon, mocked, persecuted, and killed, as God allowed it for the salvation of humanity. But when He comes again, it will be as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, coming to judge the world. For those who are not on His side, it will be a dreadful day of reckoning.
The best time to accept Him is now. Believe in Him while there is time, accepting who He declared Himself to be: the Way, the Truth, and the Life—the only way to eternal life. If you do, and you continue to trust in Him, even when you behold His majestic glory and feel fear, He will comfort you with His words: “Fear not.”
