In His Steps. What Would Jesus Do? is a book first published in 1896. It has sold more than 50,000,000 copies, and ranks as one of the best-selling books of all time. The book written by Charles Sheldon (1857-1946), described the story of a homeless man that interrupted the comfortable routine of First Church of Raymond. Life would never be the same for the apathetic congregation. Convicted by the vagrant’s words, Pastor Henry Maxwell along with parishioners like singer Rachel Winslow Rachel Winslow, heiress Virginia Page, and railroad superintendent Alex Powers are thrust into a journey of discovering what life is like beyond “Christianity as usual.” But as they find themselves opposed by family strife, church politics, and scorned lovers, will they be able to keep their commitment, or will they be dragged back into their conventional lives. Just as in Sheldon’s day, the world needs to see the self-sacrificing love of Christ, not only in word but also in the lives of His present-day disciples.
