Every day, a devout Christian must place significant emphasis on two fundamental aspects: Living and Looking. Living entails our existence in this current world, where we navigate the challenges and joys of life. Simultaneously, we must maintain a keen focus on the concept of looking, where we anticipate and yearn for the blessed hope that is beautifully described in Titus 2:12-13.
The art of living is made not only bearable but profoundly meaningful because, as Christians, we dedicate our lives to the service of God. We diligently seek to contribute to the growth and establishment of His divine Kingdom, utilizing the unique gifts and talents He has graciously bestowed upon us. This purpose-driven life not only brings purpose but also instills a profound sense of joy and fulfillment.
Our constant focus on looking is an integral part of our Christian journey. It’s an anticipation rooted in the promise of Christ’s return and the glorious fulfillment of His Kingdom. As we live and look forward, we eagerly anticipate three profound benefits that will accompany Christ’s return:
- Christ’s personal presence – we look forward to being with Him.
- Redemption from our sinful nature – we long for the end of the battle with sin and our perfection in Christ.
- Restoration of creation – We anticipate the complete rule of grace when the image of God will be fully realised in people and when the created order will be restored.
The future indeed holds immense promise and beauty for those that believe in Jesus Christ!
