Prof. Feroz Mahomed Swalaha

Head of Department of Biotechnology and Food Science

Durban University of Technology

South Africa

25 May 2023

Prof. Swalaha:

I am writing this letter to formally tender my resignation effective today May 25, 2023. I will commence my three-month notice period from today onward. The reason for my resignation is primarily due to personal family matters.

Back in January 2011, I began my journey at the department of Biotechnology and Food Technology as a lecturer, and my official tenure commenced on May 1, 2011. I am immensely grateful to have had a remarkable, successful, and fulfilling experience at DUT. Within less than a decade of joining the university, I have been fortunate to reach the pinnacle of my career. I attribute this achievement to the blessings of God, who has guided me throughout. I will forever cherish the opportunity I had to make a positive impact on the community, particularly through the empowerment of smallholder farmers and the youth. My ability to contribute to these causes was greatly supported by the NRF grants and research awards I received.

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you, Prof. Swalaha, for being an exceptional leader and a dear friend. Your support and encouragement have enabled me to explore different ideas and pursue approaches that were important to me. I extend my gratitude to everyone in the department for their unwavering support and camaraderie. I wish you all the best of luck.

In conclusion, I will forever remain grateful for the opportunity to serve as a lecturer and supervisor to the numerous students I have had the privilege of teaching and guiding during my time at DUT. It has been an honour and privilege to contribute to their academic and personal growth.

Thank you once again for always being so supportive and inspiring.

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Oluwatosin Ademola Ijabadeniyi
