Apart from dedicating our time to commune with Christ, the next most valuable use of our precious moments is to share the gospel with others. This ensures that we lead a wise life, not only shining like a star in this world but also in the world to come. Be intentional about sharing your faith and don’t be ashamed to proclaim that you’ve been saved by Christ and desire others to experience salvation too.
Certainly, you may encounter mockery and even persecution, but it will be worthwhile in the end. As a preacher once noted, aside from Jesus, perhaps no one in the Bible endured more scorn than Noah. People may have scoffed, laughed, called him a fool, and questioned his sanity when he proclaimed that the Ark was the only means of escape, much like Christ is the only way. Yet, that righteous man remained steadfast, saving himself and his household. For those who rejected his pleas, it was too late.
We, too, are called to proclaim a message that may often seem foolish to an unbelieving world—the message of the Cross. Will everyone accept it? No. Will some ridicule us? Yes. However, we must never cease sharing the Gospel, for it remains “the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”
Successful witnessing is taking the initiate to share Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God. Bill Bright
