The United States is renowned for being a land of courageous individuals who are willing to take risks. This is evident from the numerous businesses that emerge every day. While attending an event at an elementary school cafeteria in the US, I was astonished to see an image on the wall that conveyed this message to the pupils. It is remarkable to think that young children are exposed to such powerful life lessons, which teach them to be creative, to dream big, to have the courage to take risks, and to be true to themselves, in addition to excelling in traditional academic subjects such as mathematics and English. As a result of this early exposure, many of these children will go on to become innovators and job creators. Furthermore, Americans are known for their admiration of risk-takers, and they often celebrate individuals who persevere against all odds. Other factors that make Americans entrepreneurial apart from a culture of risk-taking include the combination of a favorable business environment, access to capital and a highly educated population makes the US a fertile ground for entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurial spirit of Americans can serve as a valuable lesson for all of us to learn from.
