See what I wanted to post earlier; below. Then the Holy Spirit said “don’t be yourself. Be like Christ.” Copy Christ. Imitate Christ. Walk in His steps. Ask yourself what would Jesus do? I know what He would do. He would serve. In John 13:1-17, he displayed this attitude to His disciples. Even though, washing guests’ feet was a job for a household servant when guests arrived, Jesus wrapped a towel around Him, as the lowliest slave would do and washed His disciples feet. Jesus was willing to serve despite the fact that He was God in the flesh. As His followers, we too must be servants, willing to serve in any way that glorifies God. Be like Christ and imitate Him by serving today.
“Permit yourself to be different from others
One of the things you must be intentional to do everyday is to determine to be yourself because you are different from others. People or society will consciously and unconsciously try to make you something else but you must say No. I like how Joel Osteen once put it “There will never be another you. Let your gifts shine. Show your personality, your talent, your style. We don’t need an imitation. We don’t need a copy. We need the original you.” Not only should you determine to be different from others, you should permit and encourage others to be different and be themselves. Let your friends be themselves. Let your spouse be herself (or himself). Let your kids be themselves.
“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is greatest accomplishment.” Ralph Waldo Emerson”
Be different from others but more importantly be like Christ. Imitate Christ by serving others! Also pray that others will know Christ and be like Him.
