Warren Buffet who turned 92 few days ago is highly revered in investment and business circle for his wisdom and leadership. However, he was once a slightly nerdish young man, who at the age of twenty was frightened to death to stand up in front of people and speak to them. Then he discovered Dale Carnegie’s course on public speaking and it changed his life. He also went on to read and reread Carnegie’s book, ’How to Win Friends and Influence People’ dozens of times, under lining it and memorizing entire passages. The book became his reference material for dealing with people and one of the cornerstones of his management philosophy. What one book has had a major influence on your life like Carnegie’s book did to Warren? Mine is the Bible. I love it and I am glad to have read it from Genesis to Revelation more than two times in one year. I draw strength, inspiration and wisdom from it every day. Billy Graham who I also read his devotional – Hope for each day – daily; once said “The Bible is not an option; it is a necessity. You cannot grow spiritually strong without it.” It is good to read other books but make sure you don’t let a day pass without reading the Best book in the world – The Bible.
